your model is a good first attempt but should have been developed further to be more effective. You could have included construction system that you proposed and taken into account the patterns in the environmental context.
The density of this approach appears quite low for a project that aims to "densify" the heart of the town with new development. A much denser system of 3d mat building might have yielded more conclusive results, (see Habitat in Montreal for example).
