It is quite clear by looking at the work you are showing on your panels that your idea of transforming the ‘buffer zone’ (as you call it) in between the lake and the city was on the centre of your working sessions and discussions. I find very interesting some of your proposals on drawings and models to deal with that area, especially well explained on the conceptual diagrams.

This seems to emerge from one of the most interesting observations regarding the old "East Berlin" estates on the trip was the impact of the green strategy offered by the new unified authorities. It completely transformed the exposed surveillance heavy empty landscape of the walled city with a disguised and environmentally friendly atmosphere. They say context is everything and suddenly what appears to be the preserve of the wealthy (green suburbs) is now available to all if only access to good transport and availability of meaningful employment could be answered. Perhaps the problems of the city are not that difficult to solve after all....
